Junior Church meets as part of the main Sunday morning Mass during term time and is open to all children aged between 4 years old and 11 years old. The children follow the same Bible readings as the congregation and have the opportunity to share their learning with everyone at the end of the service.
The first Sunday of the month is usually an All-Age Service and the children participate in the service with readings and leading our time of prayer. They also participate in the major Festivals, for example, performing a Nativity Play at Christmas.
The final meeting of this term is on Sunday 15th July and Junior Church will recommence on Sunday 9th September.
Over the summer holidays Junior Church will not meet but there will be activities in the Church including making cards for those being baptised in the next few months.
All our activities are carried out in accordance with the Diocese of Southwark's "A Safe Church" safeguarding policy document which can be found on the Diocese's website: www.southwark.anglican.org
Messy Saints meets at St. Barnabas Church usually once a quarter on a Saturday afternoon between 2.00 p.m. and 3.30 p.m. The aim is to think about the Christian faith in an informal manner, with art and craft activities, informal worship, fun, games and food.
The Next Messy saints will be on Saturday 22nd September and the theme will be the Harvest Festival.
As part of Messy Saints the children create banners and displays for the Church on the particular theme to compliment the Church's calendar. Messy Saints is for children/young people aged 4 years and older. Parents and carers are welcome to join us.
