Safeguarding Policy

Information and Help

St. Barnabas, Downham works to The Church of England Promoting a Safer Church document - "The Church of England's Safeguarding Policy for children, young people and adults".

All that we do is governed by the care and protection of children, young people and vulnerable adults involved in Church activities and is the responsibility of the whole Church.

At a Diocesan level, we adhere to the Diocese of Southwark's A Safe Church Policy which can be accessed via the Diocese of Southwark's website: www.southwark.anglican.org.

If anyone has any concerns regarding the wellbeing of a child, young person or adult please speak to :-

  • Fr. Stuart Leck (020-8698-0283),
  • Fr. Martin Thomas (07460-257103),
  • the Diocesan Safeguarding Advisor, Kate Singleton (020-7939-9423)
  • or the Parish Safeguarding Officers (Ann Osborne and Yvette Alvarez)
